Jewelry Maker Diary: Behind the Scenes

Today I’m setting up my jewelry booth in my backyard to see if I can get better photos. Every time I apply for an art show, they ask for clear images of the work and the booth, and I’m always looking for ways to improve how everything is presented.

There’s a lot involved in a booth. It’s not just the tables or the jewelry. It’s the point of view, the height, the light, the background, and how all of it comes together. Small changes can completely shift how the work is seen, especially from a juror’s perspective.

I already have a setup, but I keep revisiting it because I know it can be stronger. Some shows are more selective than others, and the display needs to reflect the level of the work. Taking the time to test, adjust, and rethink things is part of running a serious creative business.

I’ll be linking the video here so you can see the full process in my Jewelry Maker Diary. This year, 2026, I’m focused on getting into stronger, higher-quality shows, and continuing to refine every detail along the way. I have a good feeling about this year, and I’m excited about what’s ahead.
