About the Artist

I’m Fernanda Sullivan, a Brazilian jewelry designer and maker based in Charleston, South Carolina.

With roots in both Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais, I went to college in Rio before coming to the United States in 2001. I planned to stay for only six months to improve my English, but life had other plans: I fell in love, built a family, and eventually made Charleston my home.

I have a degree in Architecture and Urbanism, and I began making jewelry in 2005. That background still influences the way I design—combining organic textures with clean, architectural forms. I work with sterling silver, gold, natural gemstones, and Brazilian açaí seeds, creating every piece by hand.

When my daughter Gabriela was born in 2012, I stepped away from jewelry to focus on motherhood. Later, Alice joined our family, and those years were devoted to raising my two daughters. In 2020, I found my way back to the studio and reconnected with the creative work I had always loved.

Today, my jewelry brings together the places and experiences that have shaped me: the color and warmth of Brazil, the natural beauty of Charleston, and my love for modern, wearable design. Each piece is made slowly and intentionally, one at a time.
